Day 2 – August 2, 2025 – At Sea
Today was a lazy, relaxing day at sea as we continued our sailing to Seydisfjordur. The sea was fairly rough with 6-to-8-foot swells and some rocking of the ship most of the day. You therefore had to pay closer attention to walking. By early evening, it calmed down and walking was back to normal.
In the morning and afternoon, we attended the theater talks on Iceland that focused on nature, food, and animals with special attention given to the three ports where we would be docking this week: Seydisfjordur, Akureyri, and Isafjordur. All are small towns ranging from 1,200 to 2,500 inhabitants. We also attended the mid-afternoon show of Georgiana Jackson who sang and played the trumpet, which was an interesting combination.
Her music focused on the 1950’s. The evening theater program was “Remember when Rock Was Young – The Elton John Experience” and it was most enjoyable hearing a lot of Elton John music.
As usual, the food was excellent.
